Description
This Springfield Armory M1 Garand .30-06 is a classic U.S. service rifle with a WWII-era receiver and a later SA 5-49 barrel. The receiver serial number appears to be 518619, which falls between the Springfield Armory February 1942 ending serial number of 498,216 and March 1942 ending serial number of 542,494, making the receiver approximately March 1942 production.
The rifle features the traditional walnut stock set, parkerized metal finish, adjustable rear aperture sight, protected front sight, front sling swivel, and tan web sling. The stock shows honest handling marks, scratches, and darkened areas consistent with age and military-style use, giving it the right vintage character without looking abused. The metal finish shows normal wear and patina, especially around the receiver and operating areas.
This is a great piece for a collector, history-minded buyer, or range enthusiast looking for an iconic American .30-06 platform. The barrel is marked SA 5-49, suggesting a Springfield Armory May 1949 barrel, which is a desirable detail to include clearly in the listing.
